I’m destined to become the next CEO of my family’s media empire.
The only problem? My grandfather’s inheritance clause.
Fulfilling his dying wish of getting married and having an heir seemed impossible until my assistant volunteered for the job.
Our marriage was supposed to be the perfect solution to my biggest problem.
But the more we act in love for the public, the more unsure I feel about our contract.
Caring about Iris was never part of the deal.
Especially not when breaking her heart is inevitable.
My plan to marry Declan was simple in theory.
Move in together. Throw a wedding. Have a baby.
We set rules to prevent any kind of issues.
Ones that were never meant to be broken, no matter how much Declan tempts me.
But what happens when our fake relationship bleeds into our real one?
Falling in love was never an option.
At least not for me.
Another compelling read in the Dreamland Billionaires series. I think I enjoyed this one a little more than Rowan and Zaraha’s story. There are some similarities in both books but this one started off with a marriage of convenience and took a lot more wrangling to get where the relationship needed to be. Declan and Iris are undoubtedly good together, although it does take them a long time to see it. Their chemistry is palpable and I loved their interactions, whether they were arguing or having a ‘steamy’ moment. They are both complex characters with difficult back histories and stories. It took me a while to warm to Declan as he’s so cold and distance at the start, however his character arc is amazing and he changes so much over the course of the book for the better. Iris is a wonderful character, she is incredibly good at her job, efficient, clever, strong and determined. I particularly liked the connection Iris and Cal had, their brotherly/sisterly relationship is adorable.
The cameo appearances made by Rowan and Zaraha is a lovely addition to the storyline. This series has quickly become one of my favourite contemporary romance series. I loved the little details; the one-word text messages in a foreign language, the rescue dog scene with Declan and the wonderful things he did for Iris at the end. The epilogue is brilliant and had me sighing with contentment. I’m looking forward to the next one in the series featuring the third brother, Cal.
