Hello lovely readers,
Here is my April reading round up. Considering all of April has been spent in lockdown, surprisingly I haven’t read any more books than usual. April has flown by and I can’t quite believe we’re in May already, my birthday month! Unfortunately I doubt there will be any celebratory meals out for me this year. I’m also trying not to dwell on the fact I would also be in the Scottish Highlands right now. Never mind we have to stay positive and it has meant I can spent more time in the garden and this year, I have even sewn some vegetable seeds.
Anyhoo, I managed to read 8 books in April, I also DNF’d one at 50% and I read a sample ARC of around 11 chapters, but those two don’t count! Most of these books were ebooks, hence why there are only three pictured above. This month, without a shadow of a doubt, Serpent and Dove was my favourite book and The Raven and the Dove a close second. Unfortunately as mentioned I DNF’d one book – Tess of the Road, which makes me so sad but sometimes these things happen. The writing is good, but it just didn’t connect with what’s going on in my head at the moment! Maybe another time……. So, without further ado, here’s my list of books read:
April Wrap Up
The Queen’s Assassin ⭐️⭐️
Serpent and Dove ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Clockwork Princess ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ignite the Sun (ARC) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Emberhawk ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Scythe ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Raven and the Dove ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hunted ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tess of the Road – DNF’d at 50%
Igniting Darkness (ARC Sample) 11 chapters
April Haul

April haul and not guilty at all! You may have noticed a few romance novels have sneaked their way in there this month. Yup, that’s one of my guilty pleasures and with the summer coming up I can at least ‘pretend’ I’m sat by the pool with a cocktail. I’m so excited to read Flat Share, I’ve heard so many good things. As always there are secondhand books in there as well. I miss my charity shop trawls, but Amazon marketplace has done good this month.
I’m currently reading a fabulous eARC called Beach Read by Emily Henry, but more of that to follow it a future post.
I will be back soon with some more book reviews, in the meantime stay safe.

Do you think you’ll continue with the Scythe series?

Yes definitely, but just I don’t know when I’ll read it! I’m just in the middle of writing a review for Scythe which I should be able to post in the next few days. 😊. Have you read it?

Yes, I loved the whole series. For me, 2&3 were stronger.
